European Poker Tour

EPT is first launched in 2004 by current CEO Jonh Duthie. In 2000, John won the Poker Million € 1 million live on TV.

Because of this win, John was able to bring the popular poker game in the UK, and in 2004, together with PokerStar.com to establish the European Poker Tour, which currently is one of the most important tournaments in the world, is transmitted over 40 countries worldwide.

It is a series of televised poker tournaments like to those in the World Poker Tour (WPT) .The European Poker Tour was launched following of the World Poker Tour which is a phenomenal success in the United States. Known as the EPT, the series follows the best poker players in the world touring across the major European Tournaments.

This year EPT is at the 6 season, which begin in Ukraine, the prize pool exceeded 1.3 million euros, while the great prize of € 330,000 was claimed by Maxim Lykov, 296 players were present at the event in Kiev, whose buy-in was set at an amount of € 5,000.

They are the finalists and the awards that they have gone home:

1st Place: High Lykov - € 330,000
2nd Place: Alexander Dovzhenko - € 220,000
3rd place: Vitaly Tolokonnikov - € 140,000
Place 4: Arthur Simonyan - € 100,000
Place 5: Lucasz Plichta - € 80,000
Place 6: Ad Schaap - € 60,000
Place 7: Torsten Tent - € 45,000
Place 8: Vadim Markushevski - € 30,000

This season the tour also visits London (October), Budapest (October), Warsaw (November), Prague (December), The Bahamas (January), Deauville (TBC), Copenhagen (February), Dortmund (March), San Remo (April) and a Grand Final in Monaco (April).

The series will culminate in a Grand Final Event in the magnificent surroundings of the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco.

As noted above, both the European Poker Tour and the World Poker Tour are similar in concept, but have some very different elements.

The European Poker Tour has a more fitting format for both names. Although one event in the EPT is not actually played in Europe, all the rest are. Moreover, there is much more of a world flavor to the European Poker Tour than there is to the World Poker Tour. The WPT only has one tournament held outside of the United States.

The final table at the European Poker Tour has eight players, In WTP at the final table are only six players.

If you think you can make money in this way, then do not miss the next EPT event which will be held from 4-9 September in Barcelona and buy-in is € 8,300, which means a prize pool greater than last .
